Every year around August 8, many people in spiritual and astrological communities reflect on the energy of the Lion’s Gate Portal — a time associated with courage, visibility, heart-centered manifestation, abundance, and stepping more fully into who we are becoming.

Whether you relate to this as astrology, symbolism, seasonal reflection, or simply an intentional moment to pause and realign, Lion’s Gate can offer a powerful question:

Where am I still shrinking instead of allowing myself to be seen?

For many women, this question is not simple.

We may have learned to be agreeable, helpful, dependable, selfless, and easy to need. We may have learned that being visible comes with criticism, that wanting more is selfish, or that receiving support means we are asking too much.

So we become smaller.

We undercharge.
We overgive.
We hide our gifts.
We soften our truth.
We wait for permission.
We make our dreams more “reasonable.”
We tell ourselves we will act when we feel more ready.

But abundance often asks something different of us.

It asks us to become visible.

Abundance Is Not Just Money

When I think about abundance, I do not only think about income.

I think about space.
Energy.
Support.
Aligned clients.
Clear boundaries.
Creative freedom.
Rest.
Purpose.
A life that feels like your own.

Abundance is not just having more. Sometimes abundance begins when we stop abandoning ourselves.

It begins when we stop confusing overextension with generosity.

It begins when we allow ourselves to receive instead of constantly proving our worth through giving.

It begins when we tell the truth about what we want.

Visibility Can Feel Vulnerable

If you are used to being the strong one, the helper, the caregiver, or the person who keeps things together, being visible in your own desires can feel uncomfortable.

It can feel safer to support everyone else’s growth than to claim your own.

It can feel safer to stay behind the scenes than to say:

This is what I offer.
This is what I want.
This is what my work is worth.
This is the life I am creating.

But visibility does not have to mean being loud, performative, or perfect.

Visibility can be grounded.

It can look like telling the truth.
Posting the offer.
Naming the dream.
Raising the price.
Setting the boundary.
Sharing the deeper part of your work.
Letting the right people actually find you.

The Pattern to Release

This Lion’s Gate season invites us to release the belief:

I have to be useful, affordable, agreeable, and palatable in order to be accepted.

That belief can keep us stuck in overgiving, undercharging, people-pleasing, and hiding.

It can make us feel guilty for wanting more.

More income.
More rest.
More support.
More recognition.
More freedom.
More meaning.
More space to become who we actually are.

But wanting more does not make you selfish.

It may mean your life is asking to expand.

A New Abundance Statement

Try this:

I am allowed to be seen in the fullness of who I am.
I do not have to shrink, hide, or overgive to be worthy.
My work has value.
My needs matter too.
I am open to aligned clients, income, support, and opportunities that honor who I am becoming.

Say it slowly.

Notice what happens in your body.

Does it feel true?
Does it feel uncomfortable?
Does part of you resist it?
Does part of you feel relieved?

That reaction is information.

Reflection Prompts for Lion’s Gate

Use these prompts for journaling, meditation, or quiet reflection:

  • Where am I still shrinking to keep other people comfortable?
  • Where am I afraid to be fully seen?
  • What part of my work, creativity, or truth am I hiding?
  • Where have I confused being helpful with overextending?
  • What would I create, charge, say, or offer if I trusted that the right people are looking for me?
  • What kind of abundance am I ready to receive — financially, emotionally, spiritually, relationally, and creatively?
  • What is one visible action I can take this week to honor the future I am building?

Abundance Needs Action

Manifestation is not only about wishing.

It is also about movement.

A grounded abundance practice might include lighting a candle, writing an intention, and then taking one clear action.

Send the email.
Post the offer.
Update the website.
Ask for the support.
Create the product.
Schedule the consultation.
Raise the rate.
Make the invitation.

Abundance responds to clarity.

And clarity often comes through action.

Coming Home to Your Own Path

At Realize Your Path, I often return to the phrase:

Growth happens in seasons.

Some seasons are for resting.
Some are for grieving.
Some are for rooting.
Some are for pruning.
Some are for blooming.
Some are for becoming visible in ways that once felt impossible.

This may be a season where you are being asked to stop shrinking.

Not to become someone else.

But to come home to yourself more fully.

To your voice.
Your needs.
Your purpose.
Your boundaries.
Your creativity.
Your capacity to receive.

You are allowed to want a life that feels like your own.

You are allowed to be supported.

You are allowed to be seen.

You are allowed to create abundance without abandoning yourself.

You do not have to shrink to be safe.
You do not have to overgive to be worthy.
You are allowed to take up space on your own path.
